SquashWise has transformed the historic Greyhound bus terminal into a youth and community center! We are excited to celebrate this significant achievement at several opening events in January 2026!
We invite all community members to join us for our Grand Opening Community Day on Saturday, January 31st from 1:30-4:30pm. This open house event will be family-friendly, with tours of the new facility, open squash, and activities set up throughout the building. RSVP here.
Landmark Along Howard Street
Located at 601 N Howard St, the property served as a Greyhound bus terminal from 1941-1987 and was among the first large travel complexes along the east coast. The Greyhound building is now on the National Register of Historic Places and within the national- and state-recognized Market Center Historic District. SquashWise is honored to transform this iconic building into a youth and community squash center. A New Kind of Community
The 6-court, 3-classroom facility will allow SquashWise to double the number of students in our youth development program. We also will have the physical space to engage larger numbers of youth and adult community members in new ways. We will offer school field trips, sliding-scale memberships, youth and adult leagues, and tournaments in addition to continuing our PE Clinics, free Community Squash Nights, and Women’s and Girls’ Squash Clinics.
We will bring people together through a shared love of squash and recreation in a central location that holds meaning for people locally and regionally.
Sneak Peek Inside
The facility will include six squash courts (singles), a small fitness area, three classrooms, meeting and administrative space, accessibility to public transit, and convenient on-site parking. The SquashWise Center is anticipated to open in late January 2026. Until then, check out the renderings below from our design team at PI.KL Studio!

Support
We are so grateful for the SquashWise community who helped us to reach our capital campaign goal! Our campaign valued teamwork, participation, effort, and dollars equally. It honored key groups in our mission, including students, volunteers, donors, parents, staff, and alumni, all of whom will be represented in the building. You can learn more about our approach here.
